Thanks for visiting. My name is Craig Freshley and I have given several messages (like sermons) at my local Quaker Meeting over the years. I’m a member of Durham Friends Meeting, a semi-programmed meeting in Durham, Maine.
In these messages I’m not trying to tell you how to think or what to do. I’m not trying to get you to be a Quaker. Rather I’m just sharing a bit of how I think and what I do in the hopes that it will help you figure out what works best for you.
At this website are recordings of messages that I have given since January, 2017. All have been given to Durham Friends Meeting in Durham, Maine except the August 27, 2017 message which was given at Allen’s Neck Friends Meeting, Dartmouth, Massachusetts.
The four messages in June and July of 2017 are part of a series in which I explored: How in the hell am I supposed to sleep well? In other words: How to find peace in a world that seems so heated? How am I supposed to respond to what I read and hear in the news and social media? I can so easily despair in the face of news about environmental destruction, animal cruelty, poverty, war, and injustice. What is my responsibility to all that? What is your responsibility to your fears? How are we to find peace in the midst of our fears for our future?
